#256: When Life Falls Apart, Stay Calm & Trust Your ONE THING

July 26, 2020 — Today, to my horror, I realized my comic numbering system is off by nine days…which means re-exporting over a hundred files. I wanted to give up, but I trusted my one thing, instead.

I woke up at 4 am last night and couldn’t get back to sleep, which meant I had to start Day 256 of my 365 comic challenge on three hours of sleep.

Not ideal.

But then I booted up Notion to do some digital house cleaning, and things got even worse.

To my horror, I realized that the numbering system I’ve been using for my comics was off. I should have been on Day 256, but I was somehow on Day 248.

I went full Sherlock Holmes for an hour, and the conclusion of my investigation was (drumroll)…that I had gotten off track on Day #133. Which meant that I would have to re-export OVER A HUNDRED COMICS by hand.

It felt like the last straw in a long and arduous journey. I was ready to throw away everything I worked for over the past eight months.

The Problem

As a creative lifeform, my Achilles heel is and will always be nonlinear thinking…AKA, squirrel brain.
