August 23, 2020 — When I went on vacation last week, I forgot my drawing tablet. It seemed like the end of the world, so I wrote the problem as a newspaper headline and read it to myself.

I’ve been doing a 365-day illustration challenge all year, and it’s been a long time since I’ve had a vacation.

Last week, I finally took a trip to the Adirondacks, which was fine, because I could still post my comics every day, but when I got to the cabin and unpacked my stuff, something was missing

I had my stylus and laptop and cords, but somehow…

I FORGOT TO PACK MY DRAWING TABLET!!!

Andrew goes on vacation and forgets his drawing tablet 280 days into a 365-day illustration challenge. Panic ensues.

Shopping

Mind you, this was 280 days into my challenge, and I had not missed one comic, so the whole vacation immediately felt like a huge disaster.

After the second day, I decided there was no way I could go all week without illustrating, so I drove two hours to Target and bought an iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil.
