Are You Even Plugged In?

Modern life is an endless tangle of cords that looks really impressive until you start following them and realize it’s just one long cord plugged into itself.

“We’re more connected than ever,” or so the media would like us to believe.

But the reality is that the internet has become so full of garbage you can hardly find anything useful.

Clickbait inevitably floats to the top as algorithms create negative feedback loops of empty calories. The more we eat, the hungrier we become — because all we’re doing 95% of the time is burning calories trying to digest cardboard replicas of what YouTube thinks a meal should look like.

Inspiration without action leads to passivity.

And when you sink into that mindset, it’s very hard to dig yourself out.

Which is why it’s so important to do a deep rewiring every so often. Take psychedelics, book a cabin in the woods, go skydiving. Do whatever you have to do to reconnect.

I’ve seen a lot of creative friends give up and commit suicide or just let themselves be swallowed whole by society and it’s sad.

Don’t settle. Don’t give up.
