Day 117: Pajamas Are a Gateway Drug

Lately, I’ve been trying to find a formula for the perfect day. I’m about 99.7% there, but something keeps throwing me off. I’ll draw my daily comic, write, code, fix dinner, and then…everything falls apart.

Checking Instagram devolves into watching YouTube videos, which devolves into “just one” episode of Better Call Saul, which devolves into streaming 1917 at two in the morning (great movie, btw), which devolves into existential dread and waking up exhausted the next morning.

It’s like…where am I going wrong?

Why do I go from productivity commando to sloth?

I literally think it might be my pajamas.

Pajamas Tell a Story

Everything you do tells a story. And in my case, putting on pajamas is a metaphor for comfort. By the end of the day, I’m tired and all I want is to surrender control to the sweet glow of my iPhone.

The problem is Netflix, YouTube, Instagram, Amazon, and Facebook don’t play fair just because I’m not on my A-game. In fact…

The world is waiting for me to put on pajamas.
