December 10, 2021 — Finding other people to connect with can be hard, but your most important relationship will always be with yourself.

In my sophomore year of college I moved into a single for the first time, and it was like introvert heaven.

The moment I closed the door, my creative brain opened up, and for the next year I started spending more and more time alone.

Initially I felt guilty about it, so I’d make up excuses for not hanging out with people and tell wild stories about parties I never went to.

But by the time I started freelancing, I was having so much fun off in my own universe that I didn’t care anymore.

Until one day when I woke up and realized…

Oh wait…I’m really f’ing lonely.

Hack: Be With Yourself

The problem, I realized, is that the more time I spend in isolation, the less I fit into social categories.
