I’d argue that having a bad day is unnecessary.
After using Tony Robbins’s “90-second rule” for the past few years, I’ve come to realize that 99.99% of the things that used to leave me in a cranky mood can be dealt with in a matter of minutes (if not instantly).
When someone gets angry, I get excited because I know it’s an opportunity to engage the problem-solving part of my brain. When I get frustrated, I just go out for a run or switch to reading for a while. When I moan about doing the dishes, I wash them right away. And so on.
It sounds like a bunch of woo-woo bullshit, but your emotional state really is in your control most of the time — with a little practice you can feel however you choose to in almost any situation.
