I’ve done two coaching sessions in my life. They were both one hour, but the first coach cost $100 and the second cost $1,000.

The more expensive coaching session changed my life—not because of the advice I got (although it was good) but because of my payment.

I became a person who was worth $1,000/hr and that experience completely opened up my mind. I say NO to almost every opportunity now, charge more for my services, and manage my time as if I were a CEO of a Fortune 500 company.

$5,000 sounds like a lot to pay for coaching, but divided by 36 it becomes around $132, which is on the low end. My advice would be to book just ONE session with an expensive coach because it helps focus your brain.

It’s the difference between “This is important” and “THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING I HAVE EVER DONE IN MY ENTIRE LIFE.”

I loved reading the story and it sounds like you did still get some value out of the whole thing, but being a creative person myself, I have to say that persuing “goals” has never worked for me.

What did work was starting to do the same thing EVERY DAY. Embarking on a year-long challenge (like writing 1,000 words per day) will transform your life more than any coaching session…plus, it’s free.

Good luck in your endeavors and thanks for sharing! 👏
