Light Phone: Pros + Cons After Two Years With a Dumb Phone

Which some people thought was a great idea and other people thought was a giant waste of money.

So I thought I’d make a followup video to talk about the longterm pros and cons and explain why…

Introduction

Back in 2021 I was really struggling with social media addiction, so when I heard about the Light Phone I started watching YouTube reviews.

But they all seemed to have the same storyline, which went something like…

“I tried a dumb phone for 30 days and it TOTALLY changed my life, but, oh, by the way, I’m going back to my iPhone.”

Skepticism

Predictably, this led to a lot of skepticism that the Light Phone is just a kind of hipster toy that’s great in theory but not actually practical.

1. Will vs Limits

The biggest complaint I’ve heard about the Light Phone is: “Why pay $350 for a dumb phone when you could just use your smartphone more responsibly?”
