“Our souls are not hungry for fame, comfort, wealth, or power. Our souls are hungry for meaning, for the sense that we have figured out how to live so that our lives matter.”
—Harold Kushner

I used to have nightmares about killer mosquitos. The idea came from this old Mac game called Bugdom, where you would run around as a pill bug and fight your way through hordes of pissed off fire ants and hungry fish.

Level Three was infested with mosquitos that would dive-bomb you then suck away your hit points as you sat stunned and helpless.

Literally terrifying.

Life is like that, too…except it’s actually worse because you can’t always tell what’s draining you. The mosquitos are fucking invisible.

I had a hard time getting started on this article, so I browsed on Facebook for a bit, went for a run, made lunch, watched some YouTube tutorials…and when I finally checked the time it was 3:30 pm.

I hadn’t done any work and yet I was exhausted. What the hell?

Where did my day go??
