As a web designer, I used to have a terrible time with creative block. I spent hours on sites like Land-book and Awwwards trying to get inspired, but they only made me more depressed.

Worse, my life was moving at a snail’s pace. It would take me all week to write a blog post, and the more I procrastinated, the louder my inner-critic became: You should be done by now! Why can’t you be creative???

A/B Test Your Life

The moment everything changed for me was when I started following a routine and trying to live the perfect day, on repeat.

My first step was committing to drawing a comic every day for a year.

After the first week, I was already noticing ways to make my process faster. I limited myself to one color (yellow), used the same frame every time, and drew with a single stroke weight.

Templatize Everything

Whenever I mastered a daily task, I added a new one and experimented until I could get it done within a certain time…
