So funny that a 20-minute read went faster than so many 1,000-word, copy-and-paste articles I see on Medium every day. There’s no substitute for real vulnerability. Thanks for taking the time to write this! 👏

Maybe it doesn’t matter now, but everyone I know who has succeeded at running an online business started out with some other source of stable income and super-low expenses. They didn’t need sales.

Ironically (and sadly), the less you need money, the easier it is to make. If you can’t weather the storms, you can’t be in business. It’s a horrible catch-22.

My favorite quote related to that is…

“If things aren’t adding up, start subtracting.”

Not subtracting your prices, but figuring out what the simplest viable setup could be. What would my business have to look like for me to feel happy?

Because, as you said, the most important part is your energy. Your customers are buying YOU, first and foremost. You have to love what you do.

Be well!
