Stress is Just Life in the Wrong Gear (Mindset Shift)
August 23, 2021 — Life can get steep, but stress simply comes from being in the wrong gear at the wrong time.
For the past two years, I’ve been fighting this crazy battle with arthritis, and recently it got so bad that I started waking up every day wishing I was dead.
I wasn’t sleeping. My whole body hurt. When I got up in the morning, my knees were so achy I had to hobble around the house like a ninety-year-old war vet.
(I’m thirty).
Funny thing is, though…it wasn’t the pain that had me thinking of ending it all. What really stressed me out was that I couldn’t make YouTube videos.
If you saw me, you’d laugh, because here I am, practically on my death bed, and what I’m most concerned with is trying to write video scripts, so my social media stats don’t drop off.
Stress is the sound of trying to go 55 MPH in first gear.
Hack: Mindset Shift
What finally got me out of my slump was letting go of my high expectations, and shifting back to the basics.
For a couple weeks, all I did was learn one dish every day (buckwheat granola, quinoa tortillas, vegan cheese, etc).
