The problem with porn is that you can go so far down a specific path that nothing else resonates—you get emotional tunnel vision.

I like to go 1–2 months in between watching porn, which seems like the perfect balance. When I come back to it for a once-in-a-great-while adventure, I feel like I can relate to it in a positive way.

I can appreciate the creativity more deeply and use that to spin off fantasies for weeks on end (using my imagination instead of getting sucked into a pattern of dependence).

I think the problem is more the platforms than the content.

PornHub, et al., operate like digital casinos, shoving as much content in your face as possible and over-stimulating you to the point where you no longer have the energy to resist. YouTube uses the same exact strategy.

Overall, it’s important to know your boundaries and be constantly vigilant of slippery slopes. Glad you’re in a better place!
