“When…it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another…they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.”
—U.S. Declaration of Independence

I am an inconsistent person. Not bad a bad person, but confused. Blurry. Unreliable. I say one thing then do another. I think one thing then think something else. At times, I feel like I don’t even belong to myself.

You might call this “creative.”

But that’s not quite right because creative people can become consistent without “settling down.” Famous artists sell $120,000 bananas and look like gods doing it. Maybe that’s the problem.

Society tells creatives that we can’t keep our shit together—that the only two paths in life are to remain wild and starve or resign ourselves to the safety of a functional employer. You’re not a god.

What if there’s a third option?

What if you don’t need to be world-famous to make your art? What if you only have to teach yourself to become WILDLY FUNCTIONAL?
